Mixer's Comments
The original 1999 description for the mix:
"Hell! Talking about a difficult competition! But I succeed in making a nice mix of the so called 'Track 13' of the 'Made In Heaven' album. I shrunk the track down to 5:14, so alot of stuff isn't in there, but I still used 64 (!) pieces and fragments of Queen tracks in this mix. Even though this high number I was ready within 5 hours (in one day). I used Cool Edit again, the track 'Seven Seas Of Rhye' (cause this track can be heard on track 11 of 'Made In Heaven'), track 13 (ofcourse) and many other pieces which I won't name (just figure it out yourself! :-). Was it fun to do? Yes, it sure was hard and difficult but great!"

The new 2001 description for the mix:
If I'm not mistaken, this mix was made for a competition, the first competition of FanMixers. It wasn't a big competition: one person told the others what to mix and the best mixer would get a cd-r with some songs by choice and the opportunity to choose the next track for the competition.
Bart choose the 13th track of the cd album Made In Heaven as the competition entry. This was pretty hard, since this track is only 20 minutes of sythesizers and some other instruments.
My version starts with Seven Seas Of Rhye and then fades into track 13 which has been edited and mixed a lot. The middle features small parts of Keep Yourself Alive till No-One But You, based on the UK single discography. After that a great outro has been made, using track 13 and a piano part of SSOR. You will certainly love it!
Giving this mix a name wasn't so hard, but when a friend of mine saw this title on a site he asked me to change it, because he didn't like the combination of Queen and 13. Pretty weird :-)

go back...
