Mixer's Comments
You could say that this was a groundbraking mix as it was the first to feature a lot of the trademarks of the more conventional Floss Mixes such as "Dueting", "Delays" and "Rare & Live Material". I originally chose TMLWKY as there was loads of versions of this song available, several Brian May solo studio-based versions as well as Live takes and the Queen version. I remember that when it was released, it generated a hell of a lot of positive emails! :-)
The mix starts off using the Brian May solo version and as the song progresses, it changes to the Queen version. Then both are syncronised together so it sounds like Brian and Freddie are singing together. As the vocals end, the mix melts into the Brian May solo "Guitar" version. After the first "verse", I have a second track of the guitar version going, syncronised but delayed. It has a nice contrast as it goes and very "Brian"!! :-) Then as a parting thrash, the mix goes into the Brian May solo 1993 tour Live version for the final solo and ending verse.

go back...
